Also known as calf implants, this surgery is used to enhance and restore the proportion of your lower legs. It is commonly used by bodybuilders, patients with injuries, physical disabilities or simply for people who want to improve the appearance of their calf area.
The Surgery
An incision is made in the back of the knee where the silicon-based implant will be inserted under the skin. This will create a more fullness look and increase the size of the calves. Once the implant is inserted the incisions will be closed. This procedure can take around 90 minutes.
Recovery Process
You will need to use compression bandages for a couple of weeks. During this period of time, your legs will be a little bruised and swollen which eventually disappear as the days go by. You might walk a little stiffly for the first week, after the third week you might feel your walking more normal. You will be able to return to normal activities after six weeks approximately.
